What Causes Red And Flaky Eyelid?

My right eyelid has been red and the skin flaky for 3-4 weeks. I have changed eye make up applicators and have used creams but it starts feelin better but never goes completely away. It is on my right eye only. I do wear contacts but wore glasses for a few days but it didn t make a difference.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have red and flaky eyelid, Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like angiomas , acne , allergic , eczema , psoriasis and scabies . The symptoms can also occur due to weather change or side effects of certain medicine. It can also occur due to poor immunity of body and due to side effect of some medicines . I would suggest you to maintain proper hygiene , take anti histamine like bendryl and avoid applying any cosmetic on face. Apply only petroleum jelly. Consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order skin test or allergy test along with blood test . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with antibiotics and anti inflammatory and corticosteroid ointment . Wear sunglasses to protect eyes from UV rays. The may also refer you to ophthalmologist.
