What Causes Red And Itchy Scrotum?

Hi, I have a question in relation to my scrotum. For over a week now the scrotum has been quite red all over, and it is on and off itchy. at the beginning of the week, skin was shedding off of the scrotum but that has now stopped and it just remains red and itchy. Can you please provide some indication of what this might be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
This looks to be due to Dermatitis may be in response to something like a soap or anything else. Other than finding the reason, the treatment is going to be the same.
Please clean the area with plain water 2 to 4 times in a day , make it dry with a clean cotton cloth. You my apply liquid povidone iodine to kill the bacteria and make the area bacteria-free.
Take a therapeutic dose of Vitamin A and Vitamin D to revitalize the skin and continue with multi-vitamins. Do not rub such tender skin. This is going to take many weeks to revitalization.
