What Causes Red And Itchy Vagina After Having Periods?

I have been experiencing issues with my vagina. Everytime my period is over it begins to itch for a little less than a week. It is kind of red and irritated. In the past two days I ve experienced a little bloody and brownish discharge mixed with my regular discharge. I also do no know if it s just me but to me my vagina smells gross. Can you help find a solution?

Hi,

Excess friction or a moist environment and in frequent change of pads can cause redness and itching during periods. You can clean the area with mild vaginal wash. Moisturising the area with a baby lotion or nappy rash cream can also help. Vaginal smear should be taken to rule out any infections.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
