What Causes Red And Purple Blisters At C-section Incision?

I am 55 years old I am a female. I have had c-section s when i had mny children my youngest is 21. I now am having trouble with the area above and below where my scar is located. I am also a lot heavier now than when i had my children so there is a overlap of belly in this area. The area looks bruised and is also open in some areas and I also have large blisters and it is very red and purple looking what could be causing this? I have cleaned the area with warm water and dial soap and the put neosporin on some gauze and put it on the affected area.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

There can be various issues with blister and eruptions at the C section scar as
- retained suture material (with delayed tissue reaction)
- secondary bacterial infection
- isolated skin infection via some bacteria or virus not related to previous scar
- a part of excess collage formation as Keloid or others. Kindly upload a photo picture of the same if no objection in follow up session for further guidelines in this regard.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
