What Causes Red And Swollen Part Around Healed Incision After Surgery?
I had microfracture surgery for a sizable OCD lesion in my knee. It was an arthroscopic procedure. This was about 5 weeks ago. My incisions seem to be healed, however one of them feels as though something is poking through. It is red and swollen. Is is possible that this is a suture that was missed?
A little amount of redness and swelling is normal at the insicion site. However if the redness increse suddenly and swelling becomes prominent you might need to consult a surgeon immediately.
