What Causes Red Blotchy Itchy Rashes On The Abdomen And Back?

I have developed a rash on my stomach and back that is blotchy, red and itchy. I haven t changed soaps or detergents or eaten anything out of the ordinary. I was on a sulfa based drug about 6 weeks ago and I am taking restasis. Can you help? Thanks, Kathy

Hi Kathy

This could still be an allergic reaction to something or it could be a fungal skin infection called tinea corporis that can be treated with ketoconazole cream.

For now you can try benadryl, claritin or zyrtec for the itching but you should let a doctor take a look at it
