What Causes Red Bruises And Pain In Arm?

Hi, for about a month i've been having arm pain that hurts extremely bad when I stretch upward or backward. Today however, I noticed red bruising on yhe same arm in multiple areas. Could this have come from an auto accident I had last year in Ma? I received 3mos. of tx for it. Could the pain have returned, just more extreme?
