What Causes Red Bruises On Lip And Jaw In Children?
Hello my 10 year old daughter woke up and the bottom of her lip and jaws are blood shot red and purple and looks bruised. I took her to dr today and they couldnt tell me how or what had happen. Have you ever heard of this happening to a child before? Also what causes this?
Understanding your concern. As per your query red bruises on lip and jaw in children could be due to traumatic ulcer secondary to lip biting by the sharp teeth or it can be a aphthous ulcer secondary to stress. Need not to panic about it. It occurs in children commonly. Some times bleeding disorder or bleeding due to raised blood pressure causes these type of lesions in body. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Take topical anesthetic like lignocaine gel and topical analgesic. Choline salicylate will be effective for you. Do warm saline gargles. Go for biopsy by taking sample from labial mucosa of lip. Go for blood tests such as complete blood count. Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing with super soft bristle brush. Drink plenty of water.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
