The hole so created might heal by itself slowly and the condition is cured. If it was a cyst which got secondarily infected, it would not vanish even after healing, and would remain there as an elevated cyst, which might again get infected time and again to give rise to similar symptoms. In that case the permanent cure would be to remove it surgically and send it for histopathology for confirmation. The prevention of such infection to come or the cysts getting infected is to observe strict personal hygiene along with avoidance of fiddling with any pre existing cyst in the area. If these keep on recurring, you should consult a Dermatologist for an appropriate treatment.
