What Causes Red Bumps All Over The Body?

I ve had red bumps popping up all over my body since I got over a cold about two weeks ago. First it appeared on my stomach then it spread to my thights, arms, and back. I ve tried using Benadryl, and cortizone 10 to help ease the itching and severe scratching. I called to make an appointment with a doctor but it s gonna be two weeks till they can fit me in. Do you have any suggestions of what I might have or what I can do till the appointment ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Dear. There can be several possibilities. If you have fever, cold and rashes it can be measles too. But severe itching may not be prominent feature. If it is measles it will subside within a week without any treatment.

But in case no fever, and there is lot of itching it can be scabies also. U can try applying benzyl benzoate ointment to the whole body, except face in he night and take nice bath in the morning. Can do it for 4-5 days. It may subside.

Also apply coconut oil to the whole body. It may subside.

Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you.
All the best
With warm regards
