What Causes Red Bumps All Over The Body?

Hello, my son just woke up and he has what it appears to be mosquito bites all over his legs, thighs and up to his lower back. They are pale in color. I am confused, I don't know what it is. He is currently on amoxocillin for an ear infection. However, he has been on it for about 8 days with no reaction. Could it be attributed to that? I was thinking chicken pox but they are really pale but about the size of a dime in some spots. Mostly, they are small red dots in some places. What could this be?
