What Causes Red Bumps On Tonsils?

I had swollen tonsils and red bumps on them and I could see the bumps at the back of my throat too. A fever and Body pains. I went to the hospital I put on injections for 5days for my tonsils and given other meds too. The tonsils are not swell anymore and my fever is gone but when I looked in the mirror the red bumps were still there and this worries me .they don t hurt or anything . Is it that they take longer to disappear or could they be another problem?

Hi

Welcome in HCM.

I understand your concern and most likely you are having Acute tonsillopharyngitis therefore there are red spots over tonsils and at the back of throat. Most of the time it is viral but bacterial infections are also quite common.

As you are taken medicines and that help you as for as pain and fever is concern but the red spots are still there. This means inflammatory pathology is still going on and now you have to take -

1- Warm saline gargling.

2- Anti inflammatory.

3- Adequate fluid orally.

4- Avoid cold and spicy food.

5- Antibiotic (preferably broad spectrum).

I hope above will help you and you will recover soon.

Thanks for consulting HCM.
