What Causes Red Discharge From The Eye Of An Infant Post Using Fucithalmic Drops?

My 10 day old baby is having conjunctivitis. We we re prescribed to treat it with Fucithalmic since yesterday. After I put the gel on his eyes, there was a red discharge from his eyes, or should I say a blood. I don t knoe what to do. Please explain this to me. Thanks.

It is due to bacterial conjunctivitis. If symptoms persists better to consult an ophthalmologist and get evaluated.
