What Causes Red Eyes Upon Waking Up In The Morning?

when I wake up in the morning my eyes are extremely bloodshot with clear discharge. I put opconA in them to help clear up the redness. By the end of the day they are extremely bloodshot. I also will have a clear discharge during the day sometimes. I wear contacts as well. If I lay down it seems to make my eyes red. I saw my optomoligist but he was unable to help. Is there ophthalmologist that specializes in red eyes?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

No, there is no such speciality. The possibility of infection in the eyes is more likely. To avoid dust and pollution. Wash eyes thoroughly at night. Start ciprofloxacin eye drops four times a day. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Kaushal Bhavsar, Pulmonologist
