What Causes Red Eyes With Softened Sclera After Washing?

I splashed water on my face without running my eyes of drying them and within 5 minutes my eyes became very red and the white part of my eye became very soft looking like an overlap of eyeball skin. I had makeup on but it s the same makeup I ve always been using and this doesn t really happen to me. The same thing happened about a week ago. The first time. What could this be?

I really appreciate your concern, this could be allergic condition of eye and it can be managed with antihistamine eye drops avoid make up and using cosmetic else this is nothing to worry, hope this information may helps take care and have a nice day.
