What Causes Red, Flaky And Burning Spot Under Lip?

my son had a red, flaky, burning spot under his lip. a week later his wife had one on her forehead. His disappeared with an ointment that was for eczema and when she applied the same cream she got some results but the spot continued to grow. she went to her OB and she gave her some pills to take and said to continue to use the cream. The spots travelled to under her mouth on her chin and the pills minimized the spots but it never cleared it up. Now she has several spots under her arm that are hindering her rest. her ob said that she could get some over the counter topical ointment for a yeast infection but she is pretty uncomfortable and is wondering what is going on with the spots....what is it and how can it be properly treated instead of stabbing at it.

Understanding your concern.

As per your query you have red, flaky and burning spot under lip and after that on forehead, mouth, chin could be due to like allergic reaction , canker sore , fungal infection. it could be ecchymosis because of the trauma like lip biting and herpes . But in your case it seems to me as Herpes or cold sores which occurs because of lowered immunity of body. Need no to worry about it. Visit oral physician once and get oral examination and visual examination done. Wash face frequently, only with water without use of any chemical agent. Drink plenty of water and take diet rich in multivitamins. Your symptoms will resolve soon. Cover skin while exposure to sunlight and avoid sun exposure iof possible. Drink plenty water and fluids to re hydrate body. If its not identifiable then go for culture by taking sample with the help of swab to determine if bacteria, viruses, or fungi may be causing the bumps.
