What Causes Red Itchy Bumps On Stomach, Back And Arms Despite Using Cortisone Cream?

Hi, I have been getting these tiny itchy bumps on my stomsch, back, arms, and legs. First, I noticed my back began to itch..they felt like a bug bite, big welts begsn to form from upper and wrapped towards my chest, probsbly about 15 bumps....I ve use cortizone cream and assuming It s an allergic reaction, also took an allergy pill. This was a week ago. Now, these tiny red itchy bumps surrounding by a red circle are showing up ...one here, another here. In the past, I would get maybe 2 on my stomach , when I get out of shower.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms can be related to ringworm which is a fungal infection. I suggest using anti-fungal cream for local application such as Clotrimazole cream. I also suggest using Fluconazole 150 mg for three days. I recommend to maintain a good hygiene.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
