I have a rash that started on my arm and spread to my armpit area. It is a light red, does not itch, burn or tender to touch. I have had for about 4 weeks. The rash disappeared on my arm after using an aniti-fungal cream but has persisted in my armpit area.
Hi. As per your case history you are having fungal infection called as tinea corporis. My treatment advice is - 1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily. 2. Apply an antifungal cream like clotrimazole cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral fluconazole, itraconazole and terbinafine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
