Went to the phillipines 11 weeks ago on arriving home I started getting hard red spots with white heads along the outside of the crack of my bottom, since then they have progressed across my buttocks, are going up to my waistband, down my legs and around the front starting to go down my legs and up to my waistband. The itching is driving me completely insane , I try not to scratch , but am unable to help it while I m asleep and a number of them are now weeping. This concerns me as I am diabetic. I have been trying to get a dr s appointment for the past few days and will be trying again tomorrow , but if anyone has any suggestions as to what this is and what I can do to calm down the itching, I would really appreciate some help. Kind regards
Hello Thank you for posting on HCM From your description, it seems you have got Tinea corporis, a sort of fungal skin infection. I would recommend you consult a dermatologist for proper management. I generally recommend proper course of oral antifungal drug like fluconazole / itraconazole along with local application of sertaconazole or luliconazole cream over affected areas. Take oral antihistaminics for itching as required. Hope this will take care of your problem Thank you Dr Hardik Pitroda
