As per your complain red lumps besides tonsils can be due to
Granular Pharyngitis that can be due to bacterial or viral infection while
bad breath is generally due to tonsil stones and in case if you do not see any present it can be due to infection or other causes like poor
oral hygiene, oral and dental infections,
post nasal drip,
sinusitis,
acid reflux,respiratory infections etc..
For confirmation consult an Otolaryngologist or an ENT expert and get evaluated..
He can do investigations like Throat swab culture can help in diagnosis..
You can be advised:
-Antibiotics like Augmentin OR
Azithromycin to resolve the infection..
-Anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen can be taken to relive pain.
-Doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can be very much relieving.
-You can also suck throat lozenges to soothe the throat..
-Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
-Gargle with antiseptic solution like few drops of betadine in water..
-Chew Vitamin C pellets to boost up the immunity..
-Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
-Gargle with flavoured antiseptic mouthwash and also take steam with few drops of eucalyptus oil in boiling water to refresh the breath..
Drink plenty of water and limit intake of onion and garlic.
