What Causes Red Painful Spots With Yellow Heads On Inner Thighs?
I had a red painful spot on my left inner thigh four weeks ago. This has now spread to a painful rash of about 10 individual hard big red spots with yellow heads. They are hot and painful to touch. Most are on the back of my thighs or near my bum. They last for a few days go down and then scarr. Pleas can you advise? Should I see my doctor?
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I will keep a possibility of bacterial infection/boils, the infection gaining entry through the hair follicles. Since there are numerous lesions, therefore if I was the treating doctor I would have started you on Oral antibiotics. My choice would have been either flucloxacillin Or Cephalexin for a week. Oral antibiotics are prescription products therefore you may talk to your physician for the needful. Topically you may use an OTC topical antibacterial e.g either 2% mupirocin or neosporin ointment, twice daily.
