Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Both my son and daughter have recent rashes that have appeared at different times. My daughter who is 16 has red, crusty skin around but not in her armpits. It must not bother her much because she said it s been there since Christmas. My son who is 11 has red bumps everywhere his skin touches his clothing. Do I need to see a doctor about this? My family physician s schedule is booked 3 weeks out.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain as far as the rashes around the armpit of your daughter is concerned, it looks more like Eczema rather than allergic reaction.. In case of your son it seems like Contact Dermatitis and as the rashes are occurring in the areas where clothes touches the body then it can be due to allergic reaction to irritants like detergents.. I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluations for both and investigations like Blood tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. You can be advised anti allergics, steroidointments and eliminating the irritants like detergents, fabric softeners or other culprits that gets ruled out for causing the symptoms..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
