Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Red Rashes On Back And Buttocks Along With Swelling On Lips?
Am travelling in Vietnam, and awoke in the morning to find blotches similar to bed bug bites in common areas to where you would expect them. Presumed it was bed bugs bit the next day, a different hostel I now have red rashes all over my back, front and sides aswell as my buttocks that have swollen slightly and look like an allergy, alongside this I have swollen lips? Any ideas? They aren't itchy but obviously not right, have been in the sea the day before swimming in the Plankton so maybe this is something to do with it?
I will suggest you to undergo the blood tests for allergy, advised after examination of your rashes.
I hope the swelling is not increasing with time now, if its so then i will suggest you to go to emergency room and some injections (steroid and antihistaminics) to avoid further consequences of allergy.
Best treatment of allergy is to avoid the things you are allergic with, if known allergens are there, if not then keep anti allergic medicines handy in your bag, for emergency purpose only.
Wish you good health.
Thanks & Regards Dr. Shiv
