What Causes Red Rashes On The Knees And Thighs?

I sat in sun for about 30 minutes with umbrella covering my head and face. I was wearing jeans and the were burning red blotches on my knees and thighs. Even though I had blue jeans on. Legs were completely clothed. Does not bother naked arms but does knees and thighs when covered with clothing. What could cause this to happen?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your rash on legs and thighs.

As per your history you had completely covered the portion of your body that is now bearing rashes and the exposed one are not, that means it is not a sun burn but can be probably the allergic dermatitis.

You need to keep the area clean, avoid any scratches on it because that may worsen the rash.
Use the steroid cream like the one containg the prednisolone or clobetasol propionate cream.

You may also need, in case the lesion spread and discharge pus the antibiotics like levofloxicin, antiallergic like citrizene but only after consulting your doctor.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any questions further.

Regards
