Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Rashes are a common adverse effect of Carbamazipine, mostly its limited to non-serious rashes but sometimes it can lead to serious skin problems. Besides rashes like many other drugs it also cause stomach upset but it not serous . If rashes are there we generally recommend stopping the drug. So I would advise you to see your primary doctor and discuss with him to plan about it.
Carbamazipine is very effective in treating Trigeminal Neuralgia, but we have other options as well like prescribing medication
If medicines fail, surgery is needed
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
