What Causes Red Rashes On The Thighs Spreading Towards The Torso Region?

Hi. I have a red spotty rash which looks similar to measles (compliments of web photos) on my thighs and it is spreading to my torso. I have no other symptoms, or fever etc. it is only a little itchy at times. I showed the chemist and he said to try a cortisone cream but after 2 days it is still spreading. Any ideas? Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

We have to rule out possible causes like hives and pityriasis.

As a first line treatment you can take antihistamine like cetirizine for symptomatic relief.

If lesion persist better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
