I HAVE A SORE THE SIZE OF A QUARTER IN THE ROOF OF MY MOUTH THAT IS RED WITH WHITE PATCHES. The sore has been there for 8 mths, I just had it biopsied and it came back negative. The doctor said it was caused by a possible virsus. Its sore and I want to clear this up any suggestions?
Hello, Thank you for consulting with HCM. This soreness with white patch can be because of your smoking habit, as in case of smoking this kind of area forms on the roof, which is called as smokers palate. This lesion heals when you quit the habit of smoking and continue with some antioxidants. And if you do not have a habit of smoking then it can a fungal lesion, in that case you have to continue with antifungal drugs. Hope it will help you.
