What Causes Red Sores On The Tongue?

Good Afternoon,I've noticed what look like burns on my tongue for the past week. I do not recall drinking or eating anything that would have burned my tongue so badly that there are red spots. Sore when I brush (obviously), had this for a week now. Any suggestions?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Sore red spots over the tongue seems to be most probably due to inflamed tongue papillae causing Transient Lingual Papillitis..
It can be due to allergic reaction, dry mouth, acid reflux, burning with hot foods and chemicals like concentrated mouthwash solution, iron or vitamin B 12 deficiency etc.
So for now you can start taking Becosule tablet once daily, do warm saline gargles and suck ice pops..
You should also gargle with specialised mouthwash like Magic mouthwash that will help in relieving infection, pain and inflammation.
You should take soft and non irritant meals and drink plenty of water..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
