What Causes Red Spot On The Leg?

I have a red spot about the size of a dime on my leg , just above the ankle. it appears, at times to have a white surround. I have had it checked in the past 5 years, and was told it was nothing. My concern is that is does not go away............it does not seem to enlarge.

Hello,

As per your case history, you are probably suffering from Granuloma Annulare.

My treatment advice is:
1. Do not scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like Mometasone cream on the lesions twice daily.
3. Take a vitamin E supplement once daily for 3 months.

If the problem persists, then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
