What Causes Red Spots On The Legs While Suffering From Metastatic Cancer?

My brother has stage 4 metastatic cancer. He is on hospice. He has dime size red spots on both legs. A few on his torso. He is bedfast and at home. I do his laundry including bedding. I have not seen any bugs or insects of any kind. He is on morphine, Tylenol 4, odanzatrone, . What do bedbugs look like and what do their bites look like?

Hello,

Since he is metastatic stage 4 cancer survival, the possibility of either thrombocytopenia related skin lesions or viral infection related skin lesions are more likely.

I don't think these lesions are due to bed bugs. Thrombocytopenia means low platelets. Platelets are blood cells help in preventing bleeding.

So low platelets can cause cutaneous bleeding and cancer patients in their terminal stages show low platelets.

These patients are also immunocompromized so they are prone to viral infections which can also cause similar symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
