Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have found some white and red spots in the upper part of my mouth and they haven't gone away. At first I thought I had burned the roof of my mouth but now they aren't going away so I am getting very concerned. Should I go back to my dentist I was just there three weeks ago and they gave me medicine to put on the roof of my ,ouch but it hasn't helped. What do you think
As per your complain red and white bumps on the roof of mouth can be due to causes like allergic reaction, viral infection causing cold sores, and side effects of medication if you take any. If they have not resolved even in 3 weeks you should consult an oral physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and oral swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.
As of now do warm saline gargles. If there is pain or soreness you can gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine. You should avoid hard and spicy foods. Drink plenty of water.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
