What Causes Red Streaks On Skin After Using O Keeffe S Cream For Hands?

3 weeks ago I used O Keefe s Working Hands Cream for treatment on my cracked fingers. I decided to use some on the severely dried skin on my thighs, hands and forearms. It wasn t long before I noticed LOTS of red streaks over those areas. As I said 3 weeks and many showers later they are still there! What is going on and does contact dermatitis last that long?

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of red streaks on skin after using O'Keeffe cream for hands which is due to increased sensitivity of your skin and chances of getting infected. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with application of aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day as this is safe and natural extract of cereals. Avoid exposure to sunlight and keep areas clean and dry. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist once and get it examined. You can start with antibiotics ( clindamycin ) , corticosteroid ointment , hydroquinone , laser therapy and dermabrasion only after doctors prescription. Do not scratch pimples as they will get infected. Also drink 8-9 glasses of water daily and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet.
