General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As the baby is one year old and the breastfeeding status at the current date is not mentioned, which is very vital to answer this query.

With this information, I can tell that in the presence of breastfeeding, alteration in the menses cycle is always predicted and one has to take extra care as a condom, Progestin only pills for contraception.

If the breast feeding is not currently going on and baby is weaned off over a period of time, vaginal infection or pelvic inflammatory condition through some sort of bacteria must be ruled out with vaginal examination and a swab culture report of the cervix or vagina.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
