What Causes Reddish Brown Vaginal Discharge And Dark Spot On Labia While On Depo Provera?

Hi, I am a 19 year old female. I have never had sexual intercourse. I have been on Depo Provera for 6 months now. For the past couple of weeks I have noticed a smelly, reddish brown discharge quite frequently. Also, I have a dark spot on my labium minora. I have had this spot for some time now, at least a year. It is difficult for me to examine, but it appears to be growing. Should I be concerned? Thanks

It is mostly suggestive of vaginal fungal infection for which you can take some antibiotic preferably cefadroxyl or doxycycline after an expert opinion along with avil or cetrizine for itching if present. You can take fluconazole 150 mg or use clingen-forte vaginal pessary to put into the vagina once daily for at-least 5 days. Maintain the hygiene of private part either by regular washing or you can use v-wash vaginal gel for local application.
