What Causes Reddish Brown Vaginal Discharge?

I am experiencing some light vaginal discharge and it has a reddish brown color to it. I had an hysterectomy in 2009 and am now 75 yrs. old and in good health and exercise often and eat well. I have not been sexually active since my husband died in 1997.

Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Red / brown discharge through vagina after 6 years of hysterectomy is a matter to be looked after soon. It can be some local infection/ scratching./ some problem/ injury with urethra .... which needs to be treated & more important is exclusion of malignancy .. specially at an advanced age.
So please consult your doctor earliest get detailed examination & investigations as per doctor's advise
This will either exclude malignancy / diagnose it.. & earlier the diagnosis & treatment better are the results.
Thanks.
