What Causes Reddish Skin Rash On Both Legs?

I am a cart pusher and wore jeans in the sun for seven hours. Upon taking them off I noticed a rash on both legs in the same location on each leg. Its red and mainly not itchy. went to the docs got lortisone they werent sure what it was but said it could be fungal. it covers a good portion of the leg and is symmetrical on both sides (same location on each leg). its a little bit on both thighs. no where else on body. was sick with a cold (sore throat now cough).
