What Causes Redness Above And Below The Lips?

I have a redness on the area above my upper lip. It seems to now have spread a bit to below my lower lip. I have always suffered from dry lips but have always applied different products to make them moist. This is definitely the worst I have seen it. My doctor prescribed a steroid creme(Alclometasone Dipropionte Cream .05%.) It is not helping much. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
The redness over the upper and lower lip can be because of allergic reaction to any food items or dust or any cream. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Meanwhile you can continue to use topical steroids prescribed by your physician. If it is allergic reaction, then you need to take antihistamines like cetrizine.
I hope I have answered your query. Take care
