What Causes Redness And Dryness On The Foreskin Of Penis?
Hello, my foreskin has become a bit red and dry but only a small area. It does not hurt, and if the foreskin is stretched there are some red veins made visible. Another thing is on my penis head there are something that looks a bit like grooves, sort of the same pattern as termites gnawing into wood, but it appears to not be any wounds, and if I stretch the head it seems to become smooth.
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic forum. I understand your concerns. It sounds to me like possible Balanitis and this is inflammation typically caused by infections or chronic skin conditions. Improper hygiene can contribute to skin irritation. Both inadequate cleansing and too much cleansing can add to this problem. The condition is often caused by an overgrowth of either bacteria or yeast. You need to discontinue the use of all perfumed soaps, lotions, or powders, as they are often are a cause of foreskin irritation. Use only warm water for cleansing. You can try treating balanitis yourself with a mixture of diluted vinegar and Burow’s solution applied to the area with a compress. Preventing balanitis is as easy as practicing proper hygiene. Shower every day, especially after you sweat or engage in sexual intercourse. You can also prevent balanitis by: avoiding the use of perfumed or deodorizing products on your peniscompletely drying the penis after you shower I hope I have answered your query. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
