What Causes Redness And Itchiness In The Eye?

Hi , My 7 years son has red eyes. He complaints of itching too. This had happened last year also at same time. Then ophthalmologist told that is is due to allergy. It may continue till the age of 11 years. Can i use the same medicines which i used then or should i consult the doctor again? What is the permanent cure?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history related to your 7 year old son which is suffering from allergic conjunctivitis and yes, you can use the same medicines as used last year. But as a precaution it is always better to consult you Ophthalmologist as there can be another development, any side effects of the problem or additional problems that only a Doctor can see and diagnose.
Permanent cure:
The only way fir a permanent cure is to avoid the exposure to the allergens/the agents that cause the allergy.
This is sort of a preventive therapy than the treatment and is always curative.
