General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I had gone through your question very diligently and I can understand your concern.
Since you are getting it on and off I would advise you for a battery of tests like blood for CBC, blood sugar, Liver and kidney function test, urine culture, vaginal swab culture or testing for STIs if nothing comes conclusive.
You may require a course of antibiotics under supervision of your doctor.
Meanwhile maintain food hygiene and wash it antiseptic solution and keep it moist.
Don't scratch it, in case of intolerable itching you can take antihistaminic group of drugs.

Hope this answers your question
Please don't hesitate to ask fro further queries, I will gladly answer you
Best wishes
