What Causes Redness And Itching Sensation In Left Ear Along With Sharp Head Pain?

I have a red,raised area below my left ear. It has been itchy and is sore with periodic flashes of sharp pain into my head and the skin from the area of the the raised area to the top of my head, about the size of the size of the palm of my hand is very tender and sensitive. Do you think I need to seek medical attention and if so how soon do I need to do so?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have redness and itching sensation in left ear along with sharp head pain . Well there can be many reasons for symptome you mention in query like ear infection , allergic reaction , condition like meniere's disease , wax build up and migraine . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor will examine with otoscope , CT scan , MRI , blood test and allergy test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics (gentamicin ) , corticosteroid ear drops , anti histamine , drug like vasograine and remove wax from ear . For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain , take benadryl twice a day and keep your ear dry .
