What Causes Redness And Numbness In Knee After An Injury?

I fell on my knee a few days ago and the following day it was quite painful as the bruising was showing. Right now, the knee is still quite red and the bruising has turned dark blue and I cannot feel the knee, its numb and there is no pain. Will this pass in a few days or you suspect their is further injury.
