What Causes Redness And Pain At The Injection Site After TB Shot?
The reaction to my son s tb vaccine (given Friday at noon) is getting worse as time passes, not better. His arm is red and hot and very sore - how long will this last and when should I start to get concerned. He does not have a fever, I have been giving him ibuprofen and ice packs.

Hi,
Based on the history your son seems to have developed cellulitis following BCG vaccination. Hyperemia (redness), swelling, soreness are common side effects following the BCG vaccination which usually subside over a period of time. A surgeon consultation should be sought if the hot and sore swelling does not subside.
