What Causes Redness And Pain In The Roof Of The Mouth?

Hi, The roof of my mouth is raw and red and very painful. I don t recall eating anything that would have made it that way, and it hurts to eat now, especially hot foods, when it touches the area, it is very painful. I just want to know what I can do to help it heal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection. I would recommend using anti-inflammatory medication such as Acetaminophen three times a day.

I would also recommend gargle with salty water. You should also avoid using spicy food which can trigger the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
