What Causes Redness And Pale Skin After Using Triamcinolone Acetonide?

I used triamcinolone acetonide cream usp on the backs of my hands and knuckles for my super dry skin outbreaks. It worked well before, but now I notice that my hands are super light, and don t match the rest of me. And the skin in between my knuckles is super red, and the skin on my hand I use it the most on is super thin... Can these side effects be reversed?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Prolonged use of local steroids can cause thinning of the skin. You have to stop the triamcinolone.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
