What Causes Redness And Swelling In The Legs And Feet?
Hello, My child just turned 1 yr last week. I ve noticed that his legs and feet are a little red and slightly swollen. We thought maybe it was a reaction to regular milk (though he had been on milk based formula), but we haven t given him regular milk in 5 days and his legs look the same. He doesn t have a fever, he hasn t cried in pain, he isn t grabbing or itching at his legs. I really don t know why this would have started? We ve given him Benadryl three days in a row at this point, and still no difference. I m starting to get concerned. Any thoughts? Thank you, Sarah

The following might be probable causes of swollen legs and feet in your baby:
1) Insect bite
2) Food allergy or any tight socks allergy
3) Lying in the same position for prolonged period of time
4) Excessive salt intake
5) Severe protein deficiency malnutrition
6) Kidney disease
7) Heart failure
8) Lymphatic blockade
As it has been 5 days, I would suggest you to see a pediatric doctor for thorough examination to specify the cause and appropriate treatment. Don’t worry as it’s mild swelling. Most probably it might be due to some insect allergy.
