What Causes Redness And Swelling On The Penis Opening While Using Hydrocortisone?

I had a uncomfortable burn only on the tip of my penis while peeing. I went to the doctor and they looked and it and said it s probably a yeast infection, so they gave me a pill to take 2 times within a few days of each other. He lasso said rub some hydrocortisone ointment 1% on the tip of the penis, after using it for 2 days (rubbing the cortisone) the tip where I put it looks like it s red and swelling/ irritated. Is it normal to get a reaction to the ointment? I am slightly worried...

Hi,

As you have a yeast infection, it should be treated with proper drug treatment mostly oral drug. Hydrocortisone ointment application on penis needs concern because it's not that easy.

Apply only small amount and only for few days. and if it's red and irritation then discontinue hydrocortisone. best treatment for burning during peeing is more hydration.

Drink at least 4 litres of water per day. this will help you to eliminate any urinary tract infection.
