Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter (38 years old) noticed a redness around her left ankle. It s mostly in the front of the ankle. She worked at a camp on Saturday and noticed it in the evening after she took a shower. We applied Neosporin and it hasn t changed. It doesn t itch or burn. She did not spill anything on it. Just not sure of what it could be.
Hello. Welcome. I am afraid that the history you have provided me is directing me towards an infection which is caused when a worm enters through the crack of heals and there are usually symptoms like redness, swelling, etc. I would request you kindly take your daughter to an ER soon. I am just guessing, according to the history you have provided me with but the most important thing here is a clinical examination, which isnt possible here. It may be possible she might have had an internal injury during a camping which sometimes causes bleeding inside and presents as a bruise. Donot apply any medication, keep the area dry and clean. So I strongly recommend you a physical examination by a local doctor. We are always here for your help. TAKE CARE.
