What Causes Redness In The Inner Corners Of The Eyes?

Yes, I have allergies (we live in the Ohio valley) but am also treated and take meds for high blood pressure. Lately, my eyes have been red in the inside corners by my nose. At night when I take my contacts out, I put antihistamine drops in my eyes and the redness gets better. However, after a few hours of my contacts being put back in, my eyes are blood red in the corners again. Is this most likely allergy related or could it be blood pressure or medication related?
