Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had been sick with a bad cold and cough for 2 weeks (april 1-10). Prior to that had a really red eye, went to eye dr and he gave me drops for conjunctivitis, never hurt, just red, but went away in about 7 days(april 10). I am finally starting to fee better but my eye have been red again, someone said looks like I have been drinking. Both eyes are red, no pain. Do you think it is still the cold, or something more?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
The redness in your eyes may be a result of your recent bout of cold. During a cold, the blood vessels in the eyes can become dilated, leading to redness. Additionally, if you were coughing a lot, this can increase pressure in the eyes, causing them to appear red. However, it is also possible that the redness is due to another condition or an eye infection. If the redness persists or is accompanied by other symptoms such as pain or discharge, it is best to consult with an eye doctor for an evaluation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
